“Does anyone even read these things?” That is the most common line found in dating profiles, aside from the totally-original-not-douchey-at-all “work hard, play hard.” The answer is yes, people do actually read your profile. But let’s be honest, they look at your photos first.

You could be an incredible poet or a budding JK Rowling but none of your beautiful words will ever make as much of an impact as your photos. That sucks for people who care more about substance than appearance, but it’s also the truth.

It’s especially nerve wracking for fat women, who live their lives in constant judgement — either by others or themselves.

So, what’s a fat girl to do? You can avoid online dating or you can play the game. If you want a profile photo that makes an impact, try these helpful tips.
